Santa Maria High Dependency Unit

Our Santa Maria High Dependency Unit caters for residents who require more extensive care. The Unit is designed to provide a self contained and secure area from which we can provide the highest quality of life within a safe and caring environment. Members of staff are trained in the care of highly dependent persons.

Shared bedrooms are designed to provide maximum observation and to provide a peaceful and calm environment. All bedrooms have access to a balcony or terrace overlooking our gardens as well as an ensuite bathroom. The Unit includes a central sitting area with large windows overlooking our main garden and pool area. The central area provides residents a common area where they can watch television, socialise and participate in special activities. Our activity coordinator also provides activities and games which are designed to provide stimulation whilst dispelling anxiety within the Unit.

A separate dining area, also overlooking our gardens, is available for residents of the Unit who prefer not to eat in the main dinning area. Residents living within the Santa Maria Unit are also encouraged to participate in activities being held in our main common areas and to socialise with other residents as much as possible. Although most residents require high levels of care, other residents are independent persons who prefer the support and care they are able to receive within the Santa Maria Unit.
